My father in law's company ordered food for him to last a week. They sent over a wonderful array of antipasti, penne, meatballs, chicken marsala and mancotti, The antipasti plate was gorgeous and it was tough not to fill up on all the yummy stuff. I tried everything. My hands down favorite was the mancotti followed by a meatball close second. If I lived out west and needed a delivery order GGs would be at the top of my list!

I wouldnt say Im a fan but not a hater as well, I guess Im kind of indifferent to this place. Its def a place all the older folks go to for the early bird Italian dinners. I got an Italian sandwich which was good but nothing to rave about. The wait staff was very pleasant and the prices are good.

If you're looking for good Italian food at a modest price range, then this is the place for you. GG's is a pizzeria/restaurant not the type of place you go to get gourmet Italian food; however, the quality is really good for the price. A great place for lunch with a lot of specials under $10, (includes drink, salad, garlic rolls and entree). The staff is friendly and always willing to help.

GG's is your grandparent's Italian restaurant, complete with the red-white checkered plastic tablecloths and a prompt, dedicated staff. In keeping with all this, the food is top-notch Southern Italian/New York style fare, in generous but not overwhelming portions. The fish of the day (better known as "Sole of the Day") and any of the pasta dishes with angel hair are highly recommended. Can't say enough good things about the wait staff. This team of young men and women are courteous, well-organized and attentive. Am withholding a fifth star because the restaurant's interior is becoming threadbare.

OK, so I had the same thing again on my second visit, why? Because I love my pasta with broccoli!!! This time it was perfect! The chicken was nice and tender and the pasta and broccoli were cooked to perfection!!! I still layered the parmigiana cheese a few times, but the food was perfect today! The garlic knots were good as always and the salad was what you would expect.

For me, this is one of those restaurants where I always order the same thing. I only come here when I'm in the mood for meat ravioli parmesan. I've been coming here since 1996, and although this is not necessarily the fanciest Italian food you'll ever eat, it is consistent. For me, it's simple comfort food. I come here when I want to be able to sit down in a place that isn't too noisy, even when they're busy, and enjoy a meal in a comfortable familiar environment. It is definitely one of my go to places when I'm not in the mood to try something new. I have tried other things on the menu, such as chicken marsala, which is also excellent. Their pizza is also solid. Another item on the menu I can recommend is there meatball sub. Since it is served on their delicious homemade rolls, you can't go wrong there. Take it for someone who's been coming here for 19 years - this is a good place to eat.

I love this place! I've been coming here since I was a child. The food has always been good, and at certain times and dishes, it's been great! The only thing I was unhappy with on this last visit was my server, Leah. I felt she was rushing us, and she even made some comments about an old couple next to us being rude, because she forgot to bring them lemons and they called her out in it. The other servers around the restaurant were far more courteous and friendly and helped us out when Leah was no where to be found.

The food at this place is not very good. I got the chicken parm and the portion was for a kid, 1 strip of a piece of cheese that covered 50% of the chicken it was on. They actually cut a full slice of cheese in half to put on it! My wife got the meatball and pasta and wow that was terrible. I have never had a meatball that was that bad and she didn't eat it. The only good part about the food was the garlic knots which had a good balance of oil and garlic. I am not being over critical, the food is just that bad here. I would not come back even if it was for free.

:( Well, my sister said she loves this place, so I was looking forward to it. Alas, it was just not great. The food, at least. Service was good. I had the shrimp scampi. It was bland...and you should know that I am NOT one to add salt to food. In fact, I'm pretty sensitive to saltiness, so that should tell you something about how under-seasoned the dish was. Additionally, the pasta was way overcooked. It immediately turned to mush in my mouth. My SO had the ravioli, which I did not try, but with which he was equally disappointed. I also had a glass of the house red, which was drinkable...but not much more than that. The garlic rolls were alright. [cricket noises]

Food is okay but can't say it is awesome. Sauce tends to be a bit runny and pasta was over done. This time around I tried the Linguine de mare and the other reviews are right. Needs more seasoning. The shrimp was more seemingly light either reheated, steamed:boiled or over cooked. The clams were 3 and mussels 6 plus the 3 or 4 shrimp made the plate with a bowl of pasta. Took the white sauce and felt like it was more an oil and garlic than with white wine. What can I say but it is here along the corridor if you are looking for Italian. I would stop if you are hungry but wouldn't drive out of my way for it. Service was mediocre. So my order was to go but it required asking for plastic silverware and napkins. It wasn't that busy...so that it would be overlooked. Parking lot isn't large and watch out when it rains 'cause standing water makes it fun to get out. Luckily pick up order parking was in a dry spot.

Super yummy food that definitely hit the spot. Had the garlic knots and a veggie mini calzone. Everything came quickly and was delicious. The "mini" calzone was huge and had the perfect amount of cheese and veggies. Service was great even though our waiter had a lot of tables to manage. If I am ever back in the area would definitely stop here again.

GG's has been around a long time. It was the place I took my wife on our first date to oh... about... 25 years ago. Anyway, we haven't been back in a long time, and thought it would be cool to do some reminiscing and go back with our son. It also gave me an interesting chance to review a place with such a personal history. They have alot of early bird specials 4-7 Mon-Thurs and 4-6 on Fridays. 2 for $22 thru 2 for $28. We got there in time for those, and sure enough, alot of the older clientele was there to enjoy the early birds. It was packed by the time we left. But anyway, we weren't there to dine on early birds. We ordered the Antipasto for $10. It wasn't the best Antipasto we had. The lettuce wasn't flat, salami was the only meat and chunks of provolone(?) were the only cheese. But everything there was fresh. We had garlic rolls, which were fine but the hard "Chicago" roll style. I like mine on softer rolls. Then our pizza came out, perfect timing. The pizza had good portion of pepperoni topping and great crust proportioning (I hate big puffy doughy crusts). It was a good pie, but it was over $15 for a medium (14in I believe). We had a piece of cheesecake for desert and were surprised at the taste and texture of it. My wife thought it was some kind of tort? So she asked the waitress and she told us it is an in house Ricotta-style that is slightly different from cream cheese-style.Would have been nice to know that before we tasted it but no big deal. Ideally, I would have given a 3-and-a-half star. The Antipasto and rolls were only OK and the pizza on the $$$. But we all enjoyed the environment and service and the smells from the kitchen made it feel like you were at home, plus the personal nostalgia made it a great night, pushing it to a 4-star. Would I come again? Sure, not really as a regular, but definitely a once in a while special to us place.

This pizza reminds me of two things: thing the first, Jerry & Joe's Pizza (is that place still around? Their garlic bread was an oily thrill ride); and thing the second, the kind of pizza that always got delivered for elementary school pizza parties. Remember those? Remember when you'd get rewarded for listening and respecting your elders with a nice slice of pizza? Now, you just get not to go to jail. GC's pizza crust was a little tough, and really, to say little is an understatement. By the time I was done with it, I felt like I'd been chewing gum all day. All that being said, I enjoyed it, though really, that doesn't speak so much to the pie quality at GC's as it does to my utter obsession with all things pizza. Honestly, I always say it: if I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life, it'd be pizza, and GC's is included in that group. Though I'm sure my mandible would fall off way before I die.

Saturday, Jan 18, 2014. Arrived around 5:15. Stood at reception desk and watched male staffer, leaning against the wall, standing 10 feet away, looked at me and went back to bragging to coworker about how he routinely upcharges customers for all kinds of special requests. I stood there a long time. Several staffers made eye contact and just blew by me. No one bothered to advise receptionist I was there or to attempt to seat me or ask if I was there for pick up or anything Female staffer finally came to reception desk. She looked harried. It seems like each staffer feels like they have their own assignment, so they refuse to cross-over to help the customer. Female staffer was cordial and professional. I gave her my order and watched lazy male staffer still leaning against the wall while she did credit card transaction for me. I'm an ex NYer and have not had DECENT pizza in Florida, ever. Tonight I wanted pizza and was prepared to again, be disappointed. The pizza was PHENOMENAL. Italian sausage had anise seed. What a wonderful surprise. Haven't tasted anise in sausage on a pizza in YEARS. Mozzarella was wonderful. Floridians just don't understand. The cheese? Like molten lava. The sausage and pepperoni sent from heaven. Fold the slice in half and OMG, it it possible? The amber oil drips onto the plate! These are MANDATORY HALLMARKS of NY style pizza! I did not think there was a decent pizza in Florida, and I've been looking for 20+ years. If you want delicious, HOT, terrific, NY style pizza ...try GG's. I give them 5 stars for their commitment to real NY style pizza.

This is a somewhat below average Italian restaurant. The food is mediocre at best. I have tried all the basics and it just isn't very good. The chicken parm is ok, but their sauce is not very flavorful and a bit watery. The veal parm was dry. The meatballs are mushy and have no seasoning at all. Shrimp scampi on linguine was unseasoned, no real sauce, mostly watery and tasteless. Small amount of shrimp for the cost. The chicken and broccoli was completely tasteless and very soupy. Again- no salt or seasonings in the pasta. Even red pepper flakes couldn't help it. Pizza is ok, but lots of crust and dry ends make it not a favorite of mine. However, the salads are fresh, the rolls are good and hot, and it seems to be a favorite place of many people. They have daily lunch specials ($8.95 for a personal pizza and soup or salad, with iced tea.) I thought the cost of wine per glass was high (more than the usual 100% markup) with the wine not really chilled. When you charge $10 for a glass of wine that costs $10 a bottle retail, or less, I do expect it to be the right temperature. What they are good at is the service. You are seated quickly, orders taken, salads fast, then a bit of a wait if it's busy. The servers know the menu, are helpful if you have questions, and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I have never had to ask for a water refill, and I really appreciate that. It is a bit pricey for the quality/taste of the food, but then I find that with most Italian restaurants in south florida. Really good Italian food seems to be available only if you are willing to pay high end prices for it. And high end does not mean Carraba's. The decor is typical, but as one yelper commented, the inside is getting a bit worn. I keep trying new Italian restaurants and when I find one I really like I will be happy to yelp it out loud!

This place is close to my office and I love coming for lunch. They have great lunch specials - real bang for your buck. The chicken ceasar salad is delicious. Well it's delicious for dining in. I picked one up to go the other day and was very disappointed. There was 1/2 the amount of chicken and they forgot the cheese entirely. I would be hesitant to order take out again. However, dining in I haven't had any issues. I had a personal pizza one day that was very good and my co-workers have gotten pasta dishes and a meatball sub that was mouth watering. They give you iced tea and a soup with most of the lunch choices along with those addicting garlic rolls. If you're in the area with a hankering for Italian GG's has your number.

I called GG"s tonight because I wanted to send my boyfriend a heart shaped pizza for our anniversary. He was working and I wanted him to know I was thinking about him. When I explained my request I received an immediate "No". Not, "hang on let me ask" or what I think should have been the answer "it's not the norm, but we'd love to help you out". I mean, what's the big deal? I wasn't in a rush. In all fairness, I had to call 5 places to find a pizza place who would do it (Jayno's and thankfully my boyfriend LOVED the pizza). I've ordered from GG's many times. Pizza's ok, but I'll be ordering from Jayno's from now on.

Second visit, just as excellent as the first! This place does not disappoint. I went with my mom and my sister. We entered the restaurant starving after we shopped till we dropped over at the Sawgrass Mills Mall. We started with a large, garden salad and their bread. The salad was delicious. The only slight disappointment was that the bread could have been laid out prettier on the plate. My sister had the cheese pizza. Delicious! The dough was the best I have had in a while, given I live in Miami. Wow! Everyone loved it. I had the pasta platter, so it was 3 different types of pasta and a meatball. The meatball was delicious! It would crumble apart in your mouth. The pasta was just as good. We finished the meal with a cannoli, their acclaimed cheesecake and some cappuccinos. Nothing to rave about the cappuccinos but there is a reason why these cheesecakes have won awards. They were top notch! Like the ones you would find in Brooklyn, no fake cheese. The cannoli was on par with the cheesecake. We left the table with large, happy bellies. Highly reccomend! Thank you for a fantastic meal GG's! Will be coming back!

Curious to try this busy place whenever I drive by, i jumped at the Living Social coupon ($30 for $15). I would say this place is a good value for your money if you live in West Broward and don't feel like schlepping across town to the East Side for Italian at Gianni's. We got a nice size salad ala Olive Garden bowl for all of us to share with a loaf of italian bread. My wife ordered the red clam sauce with linguini. Not bad, but it could have used a little more salt and more garlic!! My daughter had the kid's size baked ziti. I think they gave her the adult size portion! My chicken parm was not bad, but not great. Pizza looks like a good option here, my kid's cheese was light, crispy, and tasty. I think there marinara sauce could use a little more garlic and basil. Service was great. They packed all left overs for us and were very attentive to us. All in all, not a bad place to go for Italian out west when you just have the urge for Italian and dont want to settle for an Italian chain.

Pretty pedestrian. Alfredo was under-seasoned, service went from indifferent to simply ignoring me. Appetizer arrived after the salad but before I was done with it. Entree arrived halfway through the appetizer. Bread was good.

We dropped in this evening for some pasta and I was pleasantly disappointed all around. The service was average - certainly nothing to write home about. It did look like an Italian dinner, but the looks could not help them at all. I ordered the shrimp scampi and what I got was more like a bowl on linguine mushroom soup. Full of water, little taste, and piled high with mushrooms, I had to search for the shrimp. The entire dish lack any flavor. I was seriously disappointed and almost sent it back. To be honest, I have only sent a dish back once before. I decided to grin and bear it and ate about 1/2. I nibbled off my friend's Chicken Alfredo which was better but still a little rich and heavy with the sauce. Since I do not live in the area, there was not much a chance of a return visit, much less of one now. It was also a bit pricey for a mom/pop place.

Good food for reasonable prices. They offer deals via Groupon on occasion and I usually go for them. On our most recent visit it was slow, so the service was pretty good. Towards the end of our meal things picked up, but our waitress managed to stay on top of things like drink refills, getting the check, and packing a to go box. She also packed us some sauce to go without our even asking, which is a huge plus. The food is traditional Italian, and we shared the large meat Stromboli after starting with a half dozen garlic rolls. The garlic rolls were greasy and garlicky which is what we wanted-- we did ask for extra garlic. The Stromboli wasn't as big as we expected, but really was plenty for us to share (we both have a big appetite so we were worried at first), we had to bring some home. Overall, I would say this reastaurant is a great value. It isn't fancy, and nothing they serve is "new" or cutting edge, so it isn't the type of place if you want to taste the latest and greatest trendy stuff, but if you want good, solid, traditional Italian, this place is great.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Good food and fast service. Garlic rolls are tasty but were kind of cold. This is a good place for a work day lunch. You will be in and out quick.

Great food. Pizza is just like it is in NY, almost! Their famous garlic rolls are excellent, but ONLY during the day time. :-( (Not served at night.)

Very good family-friendly restaurant! I love their pizza and their garlic rolls are amazing!!! Prices are good for the quality you are getting too!
